Chrysler campaign no 137t.compact light duty trucks.possibility thatsteering column gear shift tube was not properly secured to the gear shifthousing due to omission of an assembly staking operation.if this conditionexists, tube is retained only by a set screw and may drop as the result of thescrew loosening in service.the downward movement of the tube alters therelationship of the transmission shift linkage and can result in transmissionbeing in gear position other than the selector indicates.(correct byinspecting and staking tube to gear shift lever housing.)
DEFECT #2 - STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS

Description
The front rail extension may experience fatigue cracking near the area where the power steering gear attaches to the frame. If the crack progresses through most or all of the rail section, steering system free play accompanied by metallic rattle noise will be experienced.
Consequence
Corrective Action
Affected vehicles will be weld repaired and a reinforcement rod will be installed over the cracked area.

DEFECT #3 - SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER

Description
Due to a combination of disc brake pad wear and turn stop wear on certain vehicles, there may be an increase in brake pedal travel and a reduction in front braking effectiveness following a full turn. Also, a frame crack could develop and could extend through all or most of the rail section.
Consequence
Corrective Action
Upon inspection dealer will replace either the left or right turn stop bracket to correct the front brakes. If frame is cracked it will be welded and a rod reinforcement will be installed over the cracked area.
