En abril de 1974, Johnny acompañó a su amigo y colaborador Sacha Rhoul por todo el oeste americano. Después de haber negociado el préstamo de dos motocicletas a través de Kawasaki Francia, tomaron posesión de su máquina en Los Ángeles. Un 900 Z1 de 4 cilindros para Johnny y un 400 bicilíndrico para Sacha. Saliendo de Los Ángeles. Johnny y su amigo viajan a través del Valle de la Muerte, luego el Gran Cañón antes de llegar a Santa Fe en Nuevo México, y luego de regreso a Los Ángeles.

Kawasaki campaign no 75 z 40.all model years with half fairing installed.possibility that the mounting bracket for attaching the half-fairing tomotorcycle may fail structurally due to wind and road surface induced fatigueloading.if this happens, and rider continues to operate vehicle and structualfailure occurs it may interfer with the front fender and result in loss ofcycle control.(correct by inspecting and installing a completely redesignedmounting bracket).
