DEFECT #1 - STEERING:WHEEL AND HANDLE BAR

Description
A speed nut, which retains the steering column boot to the toeboard, can cut through the steering column.

Consequence


Corrective Action
A new design steering column adapter will be installed on all affected vehicles.  If steering column is damaged, it will be replaced.

Description
On the involved vehicles, the steering column adapter can contact and eventually cut through the steering shaft.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering shaft, without charge to owner.
