Here is the result of a partnership between English tuning company Lanzante and McLaren to produce 11 examples of the original Porsche 930 TAG. Back in the 1980s, Porsche had the opportunity to build 1.5-litre twin turbo V6 engines for the McLaren Formula One team, and the test mule happened to be the Porsche 930 (The naming convention for the 911 Turbo). Named the TAG Turbo, these highly strung engines were capable of 750 to 1,000 hp, coupled with an extremely high 10,000 rpm redline.

Description
On the involved vehicles the electrical wiring harness leading to the starter and back-up light switch may have been improperly routed.  The harness may chafe against the front engine shrouding eventually resulting in insulation damage, which can create an electrical short.

Consequence


Corrective Action
The dealer will inspect and, if necessary, reroute the harness and secure it with a strap.  If damaged, the harness will be replaced.
