A second generation circa 1982-1994 Subaru BRAT car-based AWD coupe utility pickup (The Japanese El Camino/Ranchero) sits wrangled, mangled, and neglected on a farm in North Yorkshire, U.K. When new, these cars were very popular with farmers and people living in rural areas, so it isnt too surprising to find one in an agricultural setting. This poor example is too far gone for a viable restoration but could offer some spares to someone out there.

Description
A tube in the fuel evaporative emission control system can become obstructed, causing excessive pressure to build up in the fuel tank.  This usually occurs in extremely high temperatures or intense sunlight.  Excessive pressure build-up causes the fuel tank to bulge.  A short hairline crack may develop and fuel leakage may result.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, will install a newly designed tube and valve assembly in the evaporative emission control system.
