DEFECT #1 - SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM

Description
The brakes are operated with vacuum assistance.  The vacuum reservoir tank may develop air leaks from rust deterioration.  The rust occurs because the position of the tank does not allow proper drainage.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Replace reservoir with a new tank if necessary.  In addition, a protective cover will be placed over the bottom of tank to prevent rust from occuring.

Notes
Vehicle description: travel trailers equipped with vacuum disc brakes.system: brakes; vacuum reservoir tank.consequences of defect: rust eventually results in pin holes in the tank.  Theresulting air leaks will cause the break-away feature and reservoir braking tofail.  If the towing vehicles engine should stop working, the trailer could notbe stopped.  An accident could result without prior warning.

DEFECT #2 - SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:LEAF SPRING ASSEMBLY:LEAF

Description
There is a possibility that failure of the trailing arm may occur, causing the rear wheels to lock-up.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Trailing arm will be replaced with a modified leaf spring at no charge to owner.

Vehicle description: motor homes equipped with american carrier rearsuspension.system: suspension; trailing arm.consequences of defect: rear wheel lock-up will result in loss of vehiclecontrol and, possibly, an accident.note: the danger is usually preceded by a noticeable lowering of the rear coachon one side or the other.  If this occurs, immediately reduce speed and ceasefurther operation of the motorhome until corrective action has been performed.

DEFECT #3 - EQUIPMENT:AIR CONDITIONER

Description
There may be a missing duct collar between upper and lower air conditioner units.  On units with optional heating capabilities, if the blower fails, the excess heat produced will not be contained in the area of the safety limit switch.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Missing duct collars will be installed without charge to owners.
