DEFECT #1 - VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Description
In very cold weather, moisture that enters or may be present in the throttle cable housing may freeze, causing the throttle to stick.  Insufficient slack in the throttle cable inside the engine compartment may cause the cable to bend.  This causes the throttle to remain slightly open.  Vehicle speed will be hard to control.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will repair the throttle linkage at no cost to owner.

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles.system: fuel; throttle linkage.consequences of defect: loss of speed control could lead to loss of vehiclecontrol and an accident.note: if it is noticed that the throttle returns to the idle position tooslowly, or if it operates and returns normally but fails to close entirely tothe idle position, the vehicle should be stopped or driven with extreme cautionto the nearest de lorean dealer.  If the throttle remains fixed in any position,vehicle should be stopped, the ignition should be turned off, but the keyshould not be removed while the car is still in motion.  The dealer should benotified immediately.

DEFECT #2 - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

Description
An inertia switch designed to cut off the fuel pump during accidental impact may not operate properly.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will replace the inertia switch at no cost to owner.

DEFECT #3 - SUSPENSION:FRONT:STABILIZER BAR

Description
The nuts fastening the stabilizer bar and the lower ball joints to the lower link may become loose, possibly resulting in detachment of the stabilizer bar or lower ball joints.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Stabilizer bar nuts will be replaced with locking nuts, supporting brackets will be strengthened, and the ball joint nuts will be secured by installing a pin through the ball joint shaft.  This service is provided at no charge.
