The Chevrolet Corvette (C7) is the seventh generation of the Corvette sports car, designed by Hwasup Lee (exterior) under design director Kirk Bennion and was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit at the North American International Auto Show, with deliveries from September 2013 for the 2014 model year.

All models are powered by a 6.2 litre V8. with the standard version getting the all new normally aspirated LT1 6.2 litre small block engine of 455bhp, The high performance oriented ZO6 joined the range in 2015 powered by a supercharged and intercooled LT4 V8 engine of 650bhp and the ZR1 a supercharged LT5 engine, the C7 Corvette also offers a seven-speed manual transmission made by Tremec that implements active rev matching. In 2015, the 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission was available as an option for all Corvette models.

The new Corvette features a new carbon fiber hood and removable roof panel. Its fenders, doors, and rear quarter panels remain fiberglass composite. The C7 uses Aerogel, a material developed by NASA, to keep heat from the transmission tunnel from transferring into the cabin The under-body panels are made of "carbon-nano" composite. The chassis is made of hydro-formed aluminum. The rear tail lights use indirect LED technology.

DEFECT #1 - SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:CHECK VALVE

Posted on: 1984-11-13
Description
The dual air reservoirs of some trucks were equipped with carbon steel springs instead of stainless steel springs, as intended.  The carbon steel spring is more susceptible to rusting than the stainless steel spring.  This rusting could cause the check valve to fail, causing total loss of front and rear brakes.

Consequence

Corrective Action
The air tank will be inspected and, if necessary, the air valve will be replaced with one containing a stainless steel spring.

Notes
Vehicle description: medium trucks equipped with air brakes.system: service brakes; air supply check valve.consequences of defect: if an air leak were to occur and the driver did notheed warnings, an accident could result.

DEFECT #2 - SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

Posted on: 1985-07-24
Description
The front air brake hose may contact the inner fender on the left and/or right sides of some trucks.  In some instances, the brake hose may rub through, resulting in a loss of air pressure upon brake application.  Consequence of defect: brake hose may rub through causing air pressure loss when brakes are applied and reduced braking ability.  A reduction of braking ability at a time when minimum stopping distance is required could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.

Consequence

Corrective Action
Install new brake chamber support brackets, brake line elbows, and air brake hoses, as necessary.

Notes
Vehicle description: medium duty trucks equipped with tilt hoods, 7000# front axle and air brakes.system: front brake hose.
