Dodge's 600 series (introduced in 1982 as the 400 and renamed 600 for 1984) was the upmarket version of the Aries and one of the deluxe K-cars ("Super K") along with the Chrysler LeBaron. The 400/600 offered a coupe, convertible and 4-door sedan (the 600 sedan being an extended wheelbase K-car after 1983). Convertibles were built in-house on the St. Louis assembly line from LeBaron and 400/600 coupes.

The 600 ES Turbo was the high performance convertible with the 2.2 liter 4 cylinder turbo at 146 HP. At $13,995 factory suggested retail price (FOB St. Louis) with 3-speed automatic, 5,621 were built in the 1985 model year.
