September 1984 Chrysler press photo of new 1985 Chrysler Limousine. The K-car limo was built in-house at the St. Louis assembly plant by stretching a 2-door LeBaron coupe from 100.3" wheelbase to 131.3". The K-car Chrysler Limousine was built-to-order on an on-demand basis and not available in dealer inventory stock.

Standard for 1985 was the Mitsubishi 2.6 liter four with 3-speed automatic. New for 1985 was an "Ultimate Sound" electronically tuned AM/FM stereo with cassette, seatback storage pockets, along with a new column gearshift knob and flashing marker sidelamps.

759 limos were built in 1985 model year at $26,318. Only options were Corinthian leather (Kimberly cloth standard) and wire wheel covers.

With jump seats, the Chrysler limo could seat up to seven with 15 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The limousine was in the EPA midsize class at 115 cubic fleet interior volume (100 passenger compartment volume and 15 cargo volume), the same as the 1988-1993 New Yorker/Dynasty and second to the 1990-1993 extended length New Yorker Fifth Avenue/Imperial as the largest of the extended K-car family.

Description
Limousines were built with a clear lens and clear bulb combination for the front park/turn signal lamp assemblies, instead of the amber color as required by fmvss 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

Consequence
The use of clear lens and clear bulbs in the park/turn signal assembly may not sufficiently warn other highway traffic when the vehicle is turning or parked.

Corrective Action
Replace clear park/turn signal bulbs with amber bulbs.
