1936 Dodge D2

1936 Dodge D2

The previous picture of this car, in a workshop, had been given to me by the owner - I hadn't then seen it. But last Sunday he turned up at my house proudly to show me the real thing - and of course I had to photograph it in all its beauty. The neighbours joined in the viewing.

A five window coupe with a rumble seat. It was originally assembled in Sydney Australia and brought to the UK in recent years. It is believed to be the only one in the UK.

I has three spare wheels, which were needed in its early days to cope with the Australian roads.

While it has been repainted and the chrome replated it is substantially the original car. I am assured that spares are still available - unlike some more modern cars.

It belongs to Simon Slater.

The rear axle shafts may contain brake drum/wheel studs that are not centered with the drum pilot diameter.

Consequence
This could prevent full seating of the drum to the shaftflange, which may result in wheel stud nut loosening.

Corrective Action
Replace axle shafts as necessary.
