my spin on a first generation Mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser as a six wide minifig-scale/cartoony easthetic model.

The Eclipse/Talon/Laser, all built under the since defunct 'DSM' (diamond star motors) alliance between Chrysler and Mitsubishi, were a bunch of short-lived but iconic sports cars from the early 90s. Although largely restricted to US-markets and today mosty wrecked or wrenched to beyond recognition, especially the all-wheel-drive and turbo models unmistakably left a mark on car enthusiast- and tuner culture where they occupied a spot that would eventually be claimed by the 2nd generation made famous through the 'Fast and Furious' franchise and the legendary Lancer Evo models as their spiritual successors.

Description
Vehicle description: passenger vehicles.  Lockup of the transfer case can occur due to insufficient lubrication.

Consequence
This condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Dealers will inspect the vehicles for adequacy of the transfer case oil volume, transfer case oil leakage, and operational degradation of the transfer case mechanism.  If oil volume is insufficient, the appropriate amount of oil will be added.  If there is transfer case oil leakage, affected components will be replaced.  If the transfer case shows operational degradation, the transfer case will be replaced.

Owner notification began july 6, 1998.owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.  Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
