1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL Wagon

Introduced for 1982 and followed by a wagon in 1984, the FWD A-Body Cutlass Ciera midsize was in its final year in 1996, down to just a SL sedan and wagon. The wagon (formerly Cutlass Cruiser) was available only with the 160 HP 3.1 liter V6. The Cutlass Ciera would not meet 1997 side impact test standards and would be replaced by a new 1997 Cutlass sedan based on the new FWD Chevy Malibu, also built in Oklahoma City as with the outgoing Ciera. 7,156 Cutlass Ciera SL wagons were built in the 1996 model year at $17,455 factory delivered suggested retail price (FOB Oklahoma City), plus 1,851 1SA package base wagons for fleet and government sales.

At 74.4 cubic feet (EPA cargo volume index), the Century and Cutlass Ciera Cruiser were roomier than many midsize import wagons of the 1980s and early 90s as well as the K-cars, though smaller than Fairmont/LTD and Taurus.
