DEFECT #1 - EQUIPMENT:AIR CONDITIONER

Description
Girardin is recalling 146 my 2006-2008 mb iv school and commercial buses manufactured between january 2006 and august 28, 2008.  These buses are equipped with evaporators.  The evaporator's support may break off due to the vibration of the vehicle.

Consequence
If this situation occurs and is not repaired, the rear evaporator support could break allowing the evaporator to separate from the ceiling, possibly striking a passenger causing personal injury.

Corrective Action
Girardin will notify owners and repair the buses by installing the evaporators directly to the bus roof.  This repair will be done free of charge.  The recall began on september 12, 2008.  Owners may contact girardin at 1-819-477-8222.
