DEFECT #1 - STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS

Description
Daimler coaches north america (daimler coaches) is recalling certain 2009-2020 setra s417 and 2012-2019 setra s407 vehicles. The hinge on the engine compartment flap may crack, which could result in the flap detaching from the vehicle.
Consequence
A detached engine compartment flap can become a road hazard, and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will attach a restraining tether to the engine compartment flap, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on august 16, 2021. Owners may contact daimler coaches' customer service at 1-416-624-3558. Daimler coaches' number for this recall is ti#: 75.00u21166a.
