The Ioniq is Hyundai's first automobile built from the ground up and specifically available as a hybrid or electric powered, it is related to the Kia Niro crossover utility vehicle and Hyundai Elantra, with which it shares a wheelbase and suspension components, Power is delivered to the front wheels through six speed dual-clutch transmission.[

Its aerodynamic design helped lower the drag coefficient of the Ioniq down to 0.24, while weight is reduced by utilization of high strength steel for the structure and aluminium for non structural components.

Kia america, inc.  (kia) is recalling certain 2017-2022 niro and 2018-2022 niro plug-in hybrid vehicles.  Fluid may leak into the printed circuit board inside the hydraulic clutch actuator, which can result in an engine compartment fire.  

Consequence
A fire increases the risk of injury.  

Corrective Action
Dealers will inspect and replace the hydraulic clutch actuator as necessary and install a new fuse, free of charge.  Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed september 29, 2023.  Owners may contact kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542.  Kia's number for this recall is sc276.
