DEFECT #1 - ENGINE

Posted on: 2021-08-05
Description
Paccar incorporated (paccar) is recalling certain 2020 peterbilt 220 vehicles equipped with meritor 14xe epowertrains.  The stator assembly wires may have been insufficiently crimped, causing high resistance, overheating, and preventing the high voltage system from starting.

Consequence
A loss of power to the system may cause loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Paccar has already inspected and replaced the stator parts on the affected vehicles.  Owners may contact peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220.  Paccar's number for this recall is 21pbh.

Notes
Owners may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
