DEFECT #1 - TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

Description
St engineering hackney, inc. (ste hackney) is recalling certain 2022 kidron refrigerated trailers equipped with tire pilot plus tire pressure regulation systems (tprs). All 8 tires may experience a loss of tire pressure while driving faster than 45 mph.
Consequence
Tire pressure loss while driving can cause a loss of stability and control or tire tread separation, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
As an interim action, owners will be instructed to disable the tire pilot plus system. The final remedy is currently under development. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed july 20, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact ste hackney customer service at 1-252-946-6521.
