Nye campaign no 1.trailer used as trailing axle.manfd 1-1 1960 thru 7-311962.possibility that induction hardening process in effect at northamericanrockwell's axle plant may have created high residual stresses at inner bearingshoulder area.stresses may turn into physical cracks under extended fieldservice.continued use of axle after cracking may cause axle spindle tofracture.(correct by inspecting and replacing with new axle.)
