Smith tank campaign no n/a.trailer built 1-1 1960 thru 7-31 1962.possibility that induction hardening process in effect at north americanrockwell's axle plant may have created high residuel stresses at inner bearingshoulder area.stresses may turn into physical cracks under extended fieldservice, continued use of axle after cracking may cause axle spindle tofracture.(correct by inspecting and replacing where necessary.)
