Looks like it hadn't been retired too long when I shot this in 1985. Lancaster, PA. Early 1970's Dodge; note high door handles.

Possibility power steering gear assemblies have lever shafts that do not meet specifications.failure of lever shaft would result in complete loss of steering.(correct by replacing steering gear lever shaft.)
