43189 St Austell

Intercity 43189 pauses at St Austell while working the 1235 Paddington-Penzance, with partner 43179 out of sight at the rear. 43189 was part of the Great Western fleet for all of it's working life, gaining the name Launceston Castle while in use on the shorter "Castle" sets, while 43179 moved North to work for ScotRail.

As well as the classic Paxman Valenta-powered HST, some classic cars can also be seen on the left, with a 1982 VW Polo Saloon, a 1987 Ford Fiesta, and what appears to be a Fiat Strada Abarth - a vehicle that would be highly desirable nowadays!
