DEFECT #1 - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:FILLER PIPE AND CAP

Description
Certain vehicles may fail to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no.  301, fuel system integrity.  In the event of a collision from the rear, the fuel filler tube may be cut by contacting the frame rear crossmember.

Consequence


Corrective Action
The dealer will install a protective sleeve over the existing fuel filler tube at no cost to owner.

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles.system: fuel; fuel filler tube.consequences of defect: resulting fuel leakage, in the presence of a source ofignition, could cause a fire and personal injury to passengers.
