DEFECT #1 - STRUCTURE

Description
The defect involves the potential for exhaust gas (containing carbon monoxide) entry into the passenger compartment which can occur as a result of improperly retained plastic sealing plugs in the rear quarter panel/trunk area of the vehicle.  Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas which in sufficient quantity and exposure time is potentially lethal.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will install improved quarter panel sealing plugs without charge to owner.

DEFECT #2 - VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:SPRINGS

Description
Increased friction experienced in operation or servicing of the system may result in a total friction level exceeding the force capability of the throttle return springs.  This may prevent the throttle from returning properly to a closed position when the accelerator pedal is released.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealer will inspect and, if necessary, install return springs which will perform correctly, at no charge to owner.

DEFECT #3 - EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Description
Vehicles may not conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no.  108, lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment.  On certain vehicles, the front park and turn signal lamps may contain incorrect lamp bulb socket assemblies.  Engineering testing determined that these lamps do not produce a sufficient amount of light.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealers will replace turn and park lamp bulb socket assemblies with the correct assemblies free of charge.
