All new and redesigned for 1965 on Mopar's new full size "C" platform, the Fury was now a full line with I, II and III series, plus the top line Sport Fury. The former downsized standard series from 1962-1964 was now the intermediate Belvedere line. The Fury III aimed at the Impala, Galaxie 500 and Rambler Ambassador 990.

The Fury III convertible had the 318 V8 standard at $3,006 factory delivered retail price and 5,524 built. 383 and 426 V8s were optional.

DEFECT #1 - VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Description
The automatic speed control switch may stick in the resume position restricting return movement.  This will not allow the normal brake pedal operation to deactivate the system.

Consequence


Corrective Action
The shield portion of the resume slide lever in the speed control unit will be replaced without charge.

Description
Excessive heat may be transferred to the vehicle floor pan in the rear seat area.  This occurs because the muffler heat shield was omitted during manufacture of certain fleet cars.  Rear seat cushions may be scorched by heat.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Heat sheilds are being sent directly to fleet owners, who may either install them personally or arrange for dealer installation.
