DEFECT #1 - SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE

Description
The bolts that attach the d-shaped ring for the shoulder belt are inadequately supported by the material in which they are mounted.  The attachment does not comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no.  210, seat belt assembly anchorages.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Dealers will install new attaching hardware to improve the strength of the mounting.

DEFECT #2 - STEERING:COLUMN LOCKING:ANTI-THEFT DEVICE

Description
The steering wheel may be locked when the ignition key is in the off position and the gear shift lever is not in park.  This condition constitutes a non compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standard no.  114, theft protection.

Consequence


Corrective Action
Key release control cable will be inspected and modified if necessary.

Vehicle description: passenger vehicles.system: steering; ignition lock.consequences of defect: the design is intended to prevent the key from beingremoved when it is in any position except lock.  The defect may cause thesteering wheel to lock while the vehicle is still in motion, possibly resultingin loss of control and an accident.

Labels specifying vehicle capacity weight and designated seating capacity overstate the maximum load permissible for both occupants and luggage.  The label is in non compliance with federal motor vehicle safety standard no.  110, tire selection and rims.

Consequence


Corrective Action
The incorrect label will be replaced.
