DEFECT #1 - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY

Description
Fuel tank located too close to drive shaft, so that under certain conditions, the tanks mating flange may be struck by the universal joint on drive shaft.

Consequence
Contact of the universal joint with the fuel tank couldeventually cause tank to leak fuel, which might become a fire hazard.

Corrective Action
Replace with newly designed tank to preclude interference with universal joint of the drive shaft.

DEFECT #2 - WHEELS

Description
Rear tires may rub on the rear leaf springs.  Also, rear wheels may be defective.

Consequence
Continued driving could result in rear tires blowing outwithout warning; driver could lose control and a crash could occur.

Corrective Action
Replace tires and wheels, as necessary.

Overloaded rear suspension may affect braking ability.

Consequence
Impaired braking ability could result in an accident.

Corrective Action
Replace brake proportioning valve.
