DEFECT #1 - WHEELS

Description
Fasteners that hold the rear wheel to the hub and drum assembly may be improperly torqued.

Consequence
An undertorqued fastener will loosen up and can result inwheel separation, loss of control, and an accident.

Corrective Action
Properly torque rear wheel space fasteners.

DEFECT #2 - SUSPENSION:MULTIPLE AXLE

Description
The undersized weld on the rear suspension bracketry attachment can cause bracket failure.

Consequence
Bracket failure can allow the spring assembly to bereleased onto the roadway, possibly resulting in loss of control and anaccident.

Corrective Action
Replace any housings that have single pass (undersized) welds on the bracketry attachment.

DEFECT #3 - STEERING:LINKAGES

Description
Cross steering levers may be improperly heat treated and subject to fail during normal operation.

Consequence
Such failure could cause loss of truck control withoutprior warning and result in a crash.

Corrective Action
Install new, properly heat treated steering lever.
