DEFECT #1 - SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:AIR SUSPENSION:LINES AND FITTINGS

Description
Vehicle description: class 8 heavy duty trucks. The air suspension control valve supply line was not plumbed through an air pressure protection valve. In the event of a failure, there would be loss of air pressure in the 'b' system air reservoir that supplies air pressure for the front steer axle brakes.
Consequence
This condition would result in increased stopping distances.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install the necessary air pressure protection valve.
Notes
Owner notification began during november 1998. Description
The hook-up for the brake foot pedal for the driver assistant on the curb side may not be correctly installed.
Consequence
A service line failure in the a or b system airsupply could result in loss of operation of the brake pedal for the driverassistant.
Corrective Action
Repair plumbing hook-up to the assistants operating station foot wcontrolled brake valve.

Description
Curb side cab entry grab handle reinforcements may have been omitted.
Consequence
Grab handle could loosen and eventually pull loose; this could result in injury to user of the handle
Corrective Action
Install missing curb side cab entry grab handle reinforcements.
