Defect #1: Gear Box (other Than Rack And Pinion) Malfunction (MFR Campaign: )

Description

The roll pin used to attach the u-joint to the steering shaft can back out of its position and shear.

Consequence

Shearing of the roll pin causes the u-joint/steeringdriveshaft attachment to fail and drop below its normal position, resultingin loss of steering control.

Corrective Action

A bolt and nut arrangement will be added for protection against the pin failure
