DEFECT #1 - TIRES

Posted on: 2001-03-21
Description
Vehicle description: motor homes.  These motor homes fail to comply with requirements of fmvss no.  120, tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars.  These vehicles were assigned an inadequate front axle weight rating (fawr).  These motor homes have inadequate tires and rims.

Consequence
This could cause premature front tire tread wear or tire failure during normal driving, leading to a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the front tires and rims.  Federal tire labels will also be replaced.  Owner notification began march 19, 2001.  Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact country coach at 1-800-452-8015.

Notes
Also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
