DEFECT #1 - STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION)

Description
Vehicle description: truck chassis.  The intermediate steering shaft-to-steering bolt was not tightened properly during assembly.  This can cause steering noise, loose steering, and an uncentered steering wheel.

Consequence
Loss of steering could result.

Corrective Action
Dealers will inspect the steering shaft and retighten to the specified torque.

Notes
Owner notification is expected to begin july 24, 1998.owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact isuzu at 1-800-255-6727.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
