DEFECT #1 - SEAT BELTS

Description
Vehicle description: certain fire trucks fail to comply with requirements of fmvss no.  210, seat belt assembly anchorages.  The forward facing rear seat belt anchorages do not comply.

Consequence
In the event of a crash, the seat occupant may not be properly restrained, increasing the risk of injury.

Corrective Action
Additional reinforcements will be added to the seat belt anchorages.

DEFECT #2 - SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY

Description
Vehicle description: fire trucks equipped with air tank drain heaters.  The wiring used in the harness for the air tank drain heater is undersized.

Consequence
If there is a short in the heater and the circuit breaker does not trip, the harness will overheat.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the harness with one that has larger gauge wires.
