DEFECT #1 - SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC:CHAMBER

Description
Vehicle description: boat trailers equipped with brake solenoids manufactured by kodiak/ims.  As a result of a defective solenoid valve, the brakes may not actuate properly, resulting in the brakes locking up on trailers hauling boats.

Consequence
This condition could result in a lack of braking on trailers hauling boats, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace these solenoid valves.

Notes
Owner notification is expected to begin during november 2000.owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact four winns at 1-231-775-1343.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
