DEFECT #1 - FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Description
On certain motorcycles, the fuel pump and ignition relays installed during production could be defective.  This can cause the instrument panel to stop functioning and the engine to stop.

Consequence
If the engine stopped while the motorcycle was being driven, it could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the fuel pump and igntion relays.  The recall is expected to begin during october 2006.  Owners may contact ducati at 1-408-253-0499.

DEFECT #2 - SUSPENSION:FRONT:SHOCK ABSORBER

Description
On certain motorcycles, the incorrect rear shock absorber rocker arm was installed during production.

Consequence
The incorrect component could potentially fail causing the vehicle to crash without prior warning.

Corrective Action
Dealers will inspect the rear shock absorber rocker arm and replace it if necessary free of charge.  The recall began on june 15, 2005.  Owners may contact ducati at 408-253-0499.
