JIN DEI LE INTERNATIONAL 4000 SERIES NO3 TANKER TRUCK 1/64

Jin Dei Le certainly has a thing for modelling International trucks, namely this and their Durastar, both of which "enjoy" several different body types. All very low end and all with a high metal content and as much as I love collecting the underdogs of diecast I can't imagine something like this would last more than a few days in the hands of a child.
Part of a HMT branded 12 vehicle set which Home Bargains have been selling for over 10 years and which only recently has had a substantial change of contents!
Mint and boxed.

DEFECT #1 - SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:CONTROLS:FOOT CONTROL

Posted on: 2005-05-27
Description
On certain chassis, trucks, and tractors equipped with air brakes, the push rod that connects the brake pedal to the brake valve was manufactured incorrectly and could break under certain loading conditions.

Consequence
If this push rod breaks while a vehicle is in operation, a partial loss of service braking may be experienced.  This could result in a vehicle crash without warning.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the push rods free of charge.  The recall began on june 3, 2005.  Owners may contact international at 1-800-448-7825.

DEFECT #2 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Posted on: 2008-06-09
Description
Navistar is recalling 51,588 heavy trucks, commercial buses and school buses manufactured between november 21, 2000 and may 21, 2008, equipped with one or more remote power modules.  The potting material that encapsulates the circuit board of the vehicle's remote power module may not sufficiently seal the circuit board from water and contamination intrusion.  If the encapsulation is compromised, water and contaminants may cause an internal electrical short, possibly resulting in a fire.

Consequence
A fire could cause personal injury or death.

Corrective Action
Navistar will notify owners and repair the vehicles free of charge.  The recall began on july 10, 2008.  Owners may contact navistar at 1-280-461-1890.
