Description
Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2020-2021 crf1100 africa twin motorcycles equipped with a dual-clutch transmission (dct). A software error in the engine control unit (ecu), may disconnect the controller area network (can) communication and release the clutch, which can result in an engine stall or a loss of drive power.
Consequence
An engine stall or a loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Corrective Action
Dealers will update the ecu software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed october 6, 2022. Owners may contact honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is knb.
