DEFECT #1 - STEERING: STEERING WHEEL/HANDLE BAR

Description
Harley-davidson motor company (harley-davidson) is recalling certain 2022 rh975 nightster motorcycles.  The handlebar may not have been welded properly and may break.

Consequence
A broken handlebar can cause a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the handlebar, free of charge.  Owner notification letters were mailed october 18, 2022.  Owners may contact harley-davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464.  Harley-davidson's number for this recall is 0179.
